My name is Ana Tereza Tonet Wescott, and I'm a pediatric dentist from Brazil where I worked for many years in my own private practice as well as in big companies and hospitals. I came to the United States as a tourist in September 2011, and I was in New York City when I met my husband one week later. Because of that, I've been living here since then.

I'm now working in two private practices as a dental assistant, participating in research at Tufts with my mentor Dr. Aidee Herman, and volunteering in many community health and dental-related activities. Last year I went on a mission trip to Haiti where we provided dental care for almost 1200 underserved people.

Like many others, I'm working hard to resume my career as a family and pediatric dentist here in the U.S. I'm also hopeful to have the opportunity to someday teach the next generation of dentists.
